Of course, Atlassian’s biggest conference on the “old continent” — Atlassian Team ’24 Europe — couldn’t possibly take place without the Koios crew.
And the fact that it was held in Barcelona? Well, surely you didn’t think we’d miss the chance to escape to the sunny streets of the beautiful Catalan capital… under the noble excuse of attending an Atlassian conference?
Jokes aside, the first official Team event in Europe brought together, over the course of four days, all the key vendors, Solution and Marketplace partners, influencers, and other relevant figures and brands from across the globe tied to the Atlassian ecosystem — and it absolutely met all our expectations.
Day One: Positioning Matters

Day two: What and absolute f*** legend
Yes, those were the exact words used during the official opening to welcome none other than legendary football manager Arsène Wenger, as exclaimed by keynote speaker, prominent Atlassian influencer—and former Atlassian employee—Dominic Price.
Seriously, folks… Arsène Wenger. That’s a big deal.
It was a truly explosive start to the day. And if you’re wondering—why him? Well, is there anyone better suited to talk about teamwork, the core of every Atlassian tool, than one of the greatest football managers of all time? We didn’t think so either.

The rest of the day was reserved for workshops.
We’ll admit—we were a bit sceptical at first. You know how it usually goes with conference workshops… some are just there for show, others are filler, and most don’t translate into anything remotely useful for your day-to-day work.
But the Atlassian team clearly made an effort to ensure Team ’24 didn’t fall into that trap. We actually learned some genuinely useful stuff, especially around customising systems with Forge and features related to developing new add-ons. The sessions also gave us a deeper look into the new AI tool, Rovo, and sparked loads of ideas for how—and for whom—it could be used.
(And yes, we’re currently onboarding it ourselves!)
Oh, and speaking of accomplishments—there was also an opportunity to pick up extra certifications, which our very own consultant Tomislav Tobijas definitely didn’t let slip by. He’s now the proud holder of the Atlassian Cloud Foundations badge!
Day three: Mike, can we go with you to afterparty?
Day Three was, alongside countless engaging talks, also reserved for a bit of merch hunting.
Granted, we didn’t exactly account for Ryanair’s strict baggage limits, so let’s just say the weigh-in at the airport was… tense.
Since we didn’t have our own merch to hand out, we made up for it by sharing something even better—our secret recipe for the Jira cocktail, enjoyed every Thursday at the Koios office.
Gin + rakija = Jira. Yes, we know. It doesn’t sound promising. But trust us… it grows on you.

Our Community Lead, Dominik Žarković, had quite a busy Wednesday.
Between talks and networking, he also recorded a great conversation with The Jira Guy—probably the biggest Atlassian influencer on the world wide web.
He also attended the Community Lead Reception, an exclusive event gathering Community Leads from across the globe.
Oh, and yes—Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes was there too.
After the reception, we were all waiting for the organised buses to take us to the official party. Naturally, we were among the first in line, spotted the first bus, hopped in and made ourselves comfortable.
Turns out… it was Mike’s private shuttle.
So yes, security had to run all their safety checks again after politely kicking us out.
After the party?
There was an after.
And then an after-after.
You know how these things go.
Closing Ceremony and Lego bricks
Of course, Atlassian knew we’d be feeling a bit down about leaving Barcelona, so they made sure to lift our spirits during the closing ceremony on the final day.

All in all, if you use tools from the Atlassian ecosystem daily—or if you’re planning to build a career as an Atlassian consultant, Jira Admin, or even a Marketplace partner—Team conferences are a must-attend.
