Following the release of the final version of its first AI tool, Atlassian Intelligence, late last year, Atlassian has now introduced Rovo – an AI assistant designed to improve collaboration in large enterprises.
Rovo was unveiled at the recently concluded Team ’24 conference in Las Vegas.

The key problem Rovo aims to solve is helping employees find essential data and information more easily within large organisations, which is crucial for carrying out daily tasks. According to a recent study conducted by Gartner, 47% of digital sector employees report struggling to find the information they need to perform effectively. This is hardly surprising when we consider that large organisations (2,000+ employees) use, on average, over 230 applications, often leading to data being trapped in information silos.

Powered by the already established Atlassian Intelligence, Rovo can connect and search across all these tools via its AI-driven search engine – whether they’re Atlassian products or third-party applications. In practical terms, if you need information related to a current project, Rovo will scan all relevant sources, process the data using AI, and provide a comprehensive answer.

Beyond intelligent search, Rovo will also include virtual agents that significantly extend its use cases. If you’re dealing with unclear or fragmented data, Rovo Agents can explain it, suggest actions, and recommend next steps – thanks to their awareness of the organisation’s people, processes and objectives.

These agents can also assist with content creation and review, workflow automation, and onboarding of new employees.

Rovo is already being used by selected Atlassian customers, and you can join the waiting list via this link. It is not yet known when Atlassian will release the full version for all users.
